8 families from Bacau will have their own house, build in only 5 days

Eight low incomes families from Bacau will see how their lifetime dream of having their own house comes true. Habitat for Humanity Romania, together with 200 international, Romanian corporate volunteers and personalities will build 8 houses in only 5 days, in Bacau, Bacau country, between 5 and 9 October.

It is the 7th year when the association celebrates World Habitat Day, with an impressive event of construction, volunteering and communication of the need of decent housing in Romania.

“5 million people from Romania are living in conditions that are threating their health and development. Habitat for Humanity Romania offers every year a better future for 2,000 people. But together, we can help more. We welcome all the companies, which can support the construction of a house and offer their employees a teambuilding experience on the construction site, politicians, who can make changes in the legislations, artists and public figures, who can help us talk more about the way people live in Romania.

I want to thank to those who accepted our invitation, we are waiting to build together 8 houses in only 5 days at the BIG BUILD”, said Mario DeMezzo, national director Habitat for Humanity Romania.

The families which will benefit of the new houses in Bacau have to be in need of a decent home, to volunteer a number of hours at their own house and to pay back the home mortgage at the price of the building materials over 20 years at no interest.

Habitat for Humanity system, developed in 39 years in 70 countries all over the world, empowers beneficiary families and provides funds for the construction of new houses for families in need.

This Campaign has ended. No more pledges can be made.
