Dear friend,

We are bringing you good news regarding the BIG BUILD project.

With the support of the Bacau Municipality, we solved the situation of the land by changing its functionality from industrial to residential. At this point, we have all the permits mentioned in the Plan Review and the next step is to receive the final building permit. We estimate that the municipality will issue the final document in the beginning of August.

Once we receive the building permit, we will begin the preparations in order to have a successful accelerated construction event in October.

We are grateful for the continuous support and understanding showed by all our partners, volunteers, and most of all, by the partner families. The event is planned to take place in the first week of October. We have faith that together, between October 2-6, we will make an important step towards helping 36 families to start a new life in a decent home.

We will let you know as soon as we receive the building permit and we will keep you informed about the BIG BUILD project.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

With friendship,
Habitat for Humanity Romania team

Together with 450 international and Romanian volunteers, media personalities and ambassadors, we will build 36 houses in only 5 days. The partner families, who will move into a new home, will work at their own house, together with the volunteers.

On the first day, on site, there will be only the foundations, and in the fifth day, the houses will be at least 70% built.
World Habitat Day, as declared by the UN, is celebrated every first Monday of October. In 2017, it will be on October 2nd.

What happened last year

In 2015, 8 families in need from Bacau saw their dream come true in only 5 days: having a decent house to raise their children.

Together with 200 volunteers from US, Northern Ireland, Slovakia and Romanian companies, we built 8 houses in 5 days.
