Between 2007 and 2008, Habitat for Humanity built 12 homes (5 duplexes and 2 units) for families in need in Cumpana, Constanta County.

  • over 300 application forms for a house from families in need recorded at the City Hall
  • 28 of the applications are for a Habitat for Humanity house
  • the need is much bigger, as many families live in improper conditions

Between 2015 and 2018, we will build 12 new units (3 quadruplexes) for families in need in order for them to have a decent place to live in. In the autumn of 2015, the construction of the first quadruplex has begun, and in 2016 will start the construction of the second and third one

The beneficiary families which will be living in the first 4 units were selected in October 2015.

The selection criteria for the houses in Cumpana

Habitat for Humanity Romania supports families living in difficult conditions and help them break the cycle of poverty. A family to be eligible needs to:

  • (1) be in urgent need of housing;(2) have the possibility of paying monthly rates, without interest, without profit, the Habitat for Humanity Romania house.The monthly income of the family must be between 1,500 lei and 2,500 lei / family.(3) contribute with voluntary work at the construction of the house.To apply, you need the following completed forms:
