COOKIE POLICY OF THE HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ROMANIA ASSOCIATION

Updated in: 13 August 2018

I. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES USED BY HABITAT FOR HUMANITY ROMANIA (HEREINAFTER REFERRED TO AS HABITAT)

We assure you that HABITAT uses Cookies in compliance with the relevant legal provisions and Information on the processing and protection of personal data that can be consulted here.

The cookie is a small file containing letters and numbers that will be stored on the user’s device (be it computer, laptop, tablet, mobile phone or the like) from which the user accesses the website.

These cookies do not contain viruses, software or spyware, and cannot access the information on the device on which they are stored, specifically the user’s hard drive. The cookie is installed by a simple request sent by a server to a program to access the web pages (such as Internet Explorer, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox or other browsers) and is completely passive, not having active functionality on the user’s device.

Cookies are what help our websites provide users with a pleasant and friendly Internet browsing experience tailored to their needs, preferences and interests. Therefore, disabling cookies often results in the failure of the websites so as they become impossible to use.

Certain cookies stored on the device on which you access the website may collect data about your activity on the website or about the device you use in surfing the Internet, such as the operating system of your device. In all cases, all of these data collected with Cookies are encrypted so that they cannot be accessed by unauthorized persons. As we have also mentioned in the Personal Data Processing Information, we want to offer our clients and users a complete, secure buying experience which is in accordance with their preferences.

We use Cookies to improve the experience of our clients and users, both in our web site and in the buying process. Thus, with the help of Cookies, we can recognize the user’s device and preferences saved by him/her and so we can present the content in a manner that is relevant to you, so that the users receive only that information and offers which are relevant and in accordance with their preferences.

We remind you that you can always delete the stored Cookies by simply accessing the settings in your browser. In this case, during the next visit on our websites, the displayed content will be generic and non-customized to your needs, and your data will be processed again as new data, as if it was the first access of our websites.

II.  USED COOKIES

The cookies we use are of two types in terms of storage duration: A. Session cookies are temporary files and remain in the user’s device only during the session of your browser (as long as you access the website or until you close the application); after this time, this type of cookies is deleted altogether. B. Persistent cookies, as the name implies, stay on the device that you used to access the websites for a predefined time or until they are deleted by the user by accessing the browser settings.

When visiting our websites, HABITAT can place the following types of cookies on the device you use to access our website:

Cookies which are strictly necessary – for use and for the performance of websites: are necessary to ensure optimal website operation. These cookies are particularly important because, without them, navigating the page or securing certain parts of the websites would be impossible, and our websites could not function properly. These cookies are required for the website to work and cannot be stopped in our systems. These are usually set only in response to your actions, such as setting privacy preferences, authenticating or filling in online forms.

Cookies preference: we use them and we need them to display the content of the website as you wish and customise it in advance. For example: display language.

Analytical cookies – for statistics: are needed for measurement, optimization and analysis (known as analytics) so that we can understand how users and visitors interact with our websites. Through these Cookies, we collect and report information anonymously for purely anonymous statistics that help us understand how users benefit from our online services. Also, in the long run, they allow us to improve the structure of the website and the use experience of those who visit us. For example, we use them to analyze traffic on our websites, how users access our website, how they get to our website, the type of content that is most viewed, etc. All of this generates only anonymous information about the use of our website.

Advertising Cookies: These cookies can be established through our website by our advertising partners. They can be used by advertisers to build an interest profile and thus display relevant ads on other websites. They do not store personal information directly, but rely on uniquely identifying the browser and the device that you use to access websites on the internet. If you do not allow the storage of these Cookies, the advertising displayed on the websites will be generic and less relevant to your needs.
